Heated multi-trip IBC's

For liquid foodstuffs and chemicals.

The guiding principle of this design is the improvement of the consistency of the product by fitting the IBC with the necessary technology, e.g. agitators, heating or refrigeration equipment. By heating the contents during storage, transport and/or use, it can be retained at the desired temperature throughout the logistic chain. This can be of immense importance not only for quality but to maximise efficiency in many process industries.

Although the active IBC with heating is a new, flexible solution - several different methods of heating are available - customers in widely differing areas of business report satisfaction with improved handling and less wastage of product and savings in expensive energy resources.

Finncont supplied its first heated IBC in the early 1980's. Until then, the only true mobile alternative was a heated road tanker which may have proved viable with large volumes of the same product. Warm rooms suffer from inefficiency and inflexibility. Efficiency in use of the FINNCONT IBC is first class because the need to maintain fittings and body structures is minimal, whilst the necessary servicing is easy to carry out. For components that cannot be maintained, a long-life guarantee has been developed providing comprehensive coverage.

Technology:

• The basic structure can be of the COMPACT, CYLINDRICAL or FRAMED style.
• Gradient of the IBC base is selected in relation to the product being transported, e.g. from 10° to 60°.
• Materials for the container depend upon the application and the product being transported, e.g. stainless steel (Aisi 304 or Aisi 316) or mild steel (painted).
• Materials for the pallet base are usually stainless steel (Aisi 304) or hot dip galvanised mild steel.

Heating systems:

• Steam / water coil or flow pipe fixed inside the standard container. Accessories can include insulation and electric temperature sensors for heat regulation.
• Water / fluid jacket. The IBC has an outer jacket to hold either hot water or fluid which is heated by electric immersion heaters - thermostatically controlled if required.
• Electric cable heating, The IBC has two liquid proof envelopes and the space between them is filled with polyurethane insulating material. The heating cable is attached to the outer surface of the inner container. The accuracy of control can be within ±2° Celcius. This system can be specified when high temperatures are required e.g-> 100° Celcius.
• Insulation of the manhole cover and valve and, when required, trace heating of the valve can be specified.

Manhole alternatives:

•  6 swing bolts, DN 400.
• Clamp ring, DN 400.
• Quick fastener, DN 400.
• Clamp ring, DN 460.

Valves and fittings:

•  A comprehensive range of valves and fittings are stocked to allow choice depending on product requirements and customer preference.

Seal materials:

A wide range of seal materials are now available, e.g. EPDM, Nitrile,Viton, PTFE, etc. It is important for the client to consider their choice of seal material carefully before ordering Assistance is available if required.

Handling:

• With forklift from any side.
• With pallet truck from any side.
• With crane from four corners.
• Up to three full containers can be
stacked on a flat level surface - 2 on 1.
